TORONTO, ON (July 14, 2026) – StandWithUs Canad a is pleased to welcome Michelle Dor as its Executive Director.
Dor joined StandWithUs Canada in June 2026, bringing extensive experience in education, public affairs, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement. She began her career in education as a teacher before serving as a Vice Principal, roles that shaped her passion for supporting young people and fostering leadership. She later transitioned to the nonprofit sector, holding senior leadership roles at JACS Toronto and CJPAC. At these organizations, she led initiatives in fundraising, strategic partnerships, leadership development, and community engagement while working closely with organizations, schools, and elected officials across Canada.
“The mission of StandWithUs Canada resonates deeply with me because it combines education, empowerment, and action,” said Dor. “I believe that knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have to combat hatred and misinformation, and that equipping young leaders with the knowledge and confidence to educate others and advocate with conviction is essential to creating lasting change.”
Reflecting on the current landscape, Dor added, “The need for our work has never been greater. Across Canada, there is a growing demand for credible education about Israel, effective tools to combat antisemitism, and meaningful support for students navigating increasingly difficult environments. I’m energized by the opportunity to work alongside our exceptional staff, volunteers, Board members, and supporters to meet this moment with purpose, determination, and optimism.”
During her first month as Executive Director, Dor has focused on connecting with students, educators, donors, Board members, volunteers, and community partners nationwide. By listening to their experiences and perspectives, she aims to build on StandWithUs Canada’s strong foundation and ensure the organization continues to meet the evolving needs of Jewish students and communities.
Looking ahead, Dor envisions StandWithUs Canada continuing to grow as Canada’s leading organization for Israel education and the empowerment of the next generation of Jewish leaders and allies. Drawing on the organization’s 16-year legacy of educating, inspiring, and supporting communities across the country, she plans to expand its presence in high schools and universities, invest in leadership development, strengthen Canadian partnerships, and increase its national visibility. She also hopes to broaden StandWithUs Canada’s reach through innovative educational programming, digital engagement, and collaboration with organizations committed to combating antisemitism and promoting informed dialogue.
“It is an honour to join this incredible community, whose extraordinary commitment to advancing Israel education and combating antisemitism inspires me every day,” said Dor. “We aren’t simply reacting to antisemitism; we are proactively building resilience, fostering understanding, and strengthening the next generation of Jewish leaders and allies. This isn’t just professional work for me – it’s personal. I want the next generation to feel proud of their identity, connected to their heritage, and confident in standing up for themselves and others.”
