Event Recap: The Fight for Western Values with Elica Le Bon

StandWithUs Canada hosted a powerful event, welcoming attorney, artist and activist Elica Le Bon to Toronto! The event fell on the same evening that we learned the tragic news about Oded Lifshitz, and Shiri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, a night where our community needed to be together more than ever. Our Executive Director Jesse Primerano opened the event by acknowledging the painful moment for our community, which can be seen by clicking HERE

Elica spoke about the rising wave of antisemitism on campuses and how Western values -such as freedom, democracy, and human rights – are under attack. She highlighted the disturbing reality that many in the West, including students and activists, are unknowingly aligning themselves with oppressive regimes and terrorist organizations.

Elica also touched on the IRGC’s role in suppressing basic freedoms in Iran, especially for women and minorities, drawing a stark contrast between the rights enjoyed in the West and the brutal realities of life under extremist rule.

Continuing an initiative started by Elica, attendees received cards reading, “I’m not Jewish, but I speak up because…” and were encouraged to fill them out or invite a non-Jewish friend, family member, or ally to do so.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support this critical conversation and stand up for truth and justice!
