Supporting Our Interfaith Allies: Standing Together Against Antisemitism

Antisemitism is a serious problem, and not just for the Jewish community. It’s everyone’s responsibility to confront hate. The burden cannot rest on Jewish shoulders alone. Building strong relationships with interfaith allies is an essential part of ensuring that antisemitism is recognized, challenged, and rejected whenever it occurs.

Across faiths, there are people who want to stand with their Jewish friends and neighbors. But meaningful allyship grows when we turn that support into action- when we don’t just ask for help when we need it, but build bridges of mutual support.

Keep reading to learn how the Antisemitism Task Force at StandWithUs San Diego supports the interfaith communities in our region and how we encourage shared responsibility for confronting antisemitism in San Diego. Plus, how you can get involved too.

Showing Up For Our Allies

At a recent meeting with the Antisemitism Task Force’s interfaith activist group, we asked our Christian activists how we can support their broader community efforts. They shared a list of practical donation items their church was actively seeking to support its ongoing outreach and service work. In response, we are helping connect those needs with our network, ensuring that when our interfaith partners ask for support, we show up in meaningful and tangible ways.

Some of our activists will also be going to Tijuana next month to support one of our church partners’ orphanage.

It may seem like a simple act: coordinating donations, meeting community needs, and strengthening relationships through service. But this is how relationships become partnerships.

Acts of service build trust and deepen connection, allowing allies to work together in ways that extend beyond conversation and into shared action.

Allyship Is a Relationship, Not a Moment

Strong interfaith partnerships are not built only when there is a crisis. They are built through ongoing conversations, education, trust, and a willingness to stand beside one another before a headline demands it.

That approach reflects the broader strategy of the Antisemitism Task Force at StandWithUs San Diego: maintaining a consistent presence in the community, increasing understanding of modern antisemitism, and establishing the Task Force as a trusted educational resource.

Our Shared Responsibility

When churches, synagogues, community organizations, civic leaders, and individuals truly get to know one another and understand the challenges their neighbors face, responding to hatred becomes a shared responsibility rather than an isolated reaction.

And those relationships matter. Jewish communities should not have to confront antisemitism alone. Religious, ethnic, and community partners across the board can, and should, do their part to educate their own networks and speak out in solidarity.

Join Us, and Help Strengthen This Network

When we educate together, build relationships together, and stand up for one another, we create something stronger than a response to hate. But building a stronger community of allies takes people willing to participate.

Volunteers can help us expand our reach, support our charitable efforts, connect with community partners, and make sure that people who want to stand against antisemitism have a way to get involved.

Join the StandWithUs Antisemitism Task Force, an interfaith activist group, and become part of a growing network of San Diegans taking action to stand up for one another and stand against hate. Contact LiatCR@standwithus.com if you would like to join this incredible group of volunteers.
