July 25, 2026‘s terrorist attack at Berlin Pride is a tragic reminder that violent Islamist extremism threatens not only Jews, but also the LGBTQ+ community and all who embrace freedom and democracy.
We mourn the life that was lost, stand with the dozens who were injured, and hold in our hearts everyone who was traumatized by this horrific attack. Terrorism must never be excused, minimized, or rationalized.
Pride for Israel, a division of StandWithUs, brings together pro-Israel LGBTQ+ people and allies, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, to foster community, amplify our voices, and affirm that support for Israel and the fight for LGBTQ+ equality go hand in hand.
Among us are people with personal and family ties to countries, including Iran, where Islamist rule has profoundly shaped the lives of LGBTQ+ people, women, religious minorities, and others. Their lived experiences and warnings about the dangers of violent Islamist extremism are too often ignored. We believe those voices deserve to be heard.
July 25, 2026‘s attack is a painful reminder that the freedoms we celebrate at Pride can never be taken for granted. Defending those freedoms requires standing together against every form of hatred and violent extremism that seeks to silence, intimidate, or destroy them.
The values we celebrate at Pride, freedom, equality, dignity, and democracy, are the very values violent extremists seek to destroy.
We will continue to stand proudly for them. Our answer will always be the same: more freedom, more courage, and more solidarity.
Pride for Israel is a division of StandWithUs that empowers LGBTQ+ Zionists through education, community, and leadership. We were created in response to the increasing marginalization of Jewish and Zionist voices within LGBTQ+ spaces and the growing need for a community where LGBTQ+ Zionists are not forced to choose between their identities or compromise a part of who they are in order to belong.
